Retread is a short format video inspired by Ron Fricke's 1992 film Baraka. An NTSC DV 25 video frame is made of 1500 DIF blocks (10 DIF sequences of 150 blocks each: 1 for a header, 2 for subcode data, 3 for auxilliary video data, 9 for audio, and 135 for video). In order to better handle data loss or tape damage the relationship between the data and the audiovisual data is scrambled. This was our final project at Western Oregon University's Film Scoring class. The movie is called "The Day Called 'X' A (Part I)" which was found at the Prelinger Archives.
